Beware: you might be oh-so-close to finishing the game with six hotels, only to cross the 5.0 dinosaur rating threshold and find, to your utter dismay, that your facility rating has crept down! It scales with overall guest numbers, which in turn scales with your dinosaur rating. Notice that the hotel requirement to maintain 5.0 stars increases throughout the challenge. I’ve tried it with six, and no matter how happy guest satisfaction is, I can’t seem to get to 5.0/5.0. Capacity – Every game I’ve played has required at least seven operational hotels.

You can have zero injuries, but unsafe guests. Note that the “Guest Injuries” statistic is not the same as guest safety. I have found myself unable to maintain a 5.0/5.0 facility rating during storms there’s always a slight dip. Obviously roaming dinosaurs (with or without injured guests) will ding your safety rating, but so will storms. Safety – in order to have a perfect rating, you cannot have guests feel unsafe.Example facility rating from management view There are nine categories listed in this view, but I believe only six of them actually count towards your rating. If you look under the Island Rating part of the Control Room view, you’ll see the facility rating. Facility Ratingįacility rating is the (much!) easier of the two ratings to gain and keep 5.0/5.0 stars.

As it stands, the time to go from 0.0 to 1.0 stars is approximately the same as the amount of time it takes to go from 4.0 to 5.0 stars. If the island rating were an average, you could be at a 2.5/5.0 island rating in less than 15 minutes. I assume that the game designers decided against using a strict average as a 5.0/5.0 facility rating is easy to achieve with one hotel, one fast food, and one gift shop at the beginning. Instead, facility rating appears to count less than dinosaur rating. Note that as you progress through the challenge your island rating is not an average of the two. Both of these ratings must be at 5.0/5.0 stars to complete the challenge. A 5-star island rating is an amalgamation of two sub-ratings: the dinosaur rating and the facility rating.

The goal of all Challenge mode games is to reach a 5-star island as quickly as possible.
